The Challenge Program is designed to meet the needs of the student that demonstrates the need for a more rigorous challenge to CISP curriculum. The goal of the program is to increase advanced training and development in STEM fields. Students are invited to join the program by the Supplemental Services Team. Students who join the Program focus on skills of independence, self-research, self-motivation and self-monitoring in concepts of the unit studied. All students learn to interpret, relate and apply the content, rather than only know the content. The Challenge Program encourages creativity, flexibility, insists on critical thinking, and a key component to the program is in the questions asked about the activity. Questioning facilitates high-level thinking. This is accomplished through integrating technology, collaboration, and hands-on approach to the Challenge given.
