WELCOME TO CISP MIDDLE SCHOOL -GRADES 6 - 8

Middle school is a season of transition. As with all transitions, this time of change and growth is often challenging.  The teachers and staff members of CISP provides quality content instruction, character development opportunities, and opportunities for students to apply their biblical knowledge in their daily lives. Students generally have seven 45-minute classes each day, including the following core courses:

  • Science – Grade 6: Scientific Processes & Variables; Mixtures & Solutions; Gravity & Kinetic Energy; & Simple Machines; Grade 7: Life Science; Grade 8: Earth Science
  • English – Grades 6-8: English Language Arts; Independent Reading
  • Mathematics – Grade 6 & 7: All Things Algebra; Grade 8: All Things Algebra-Pre Algebra; Grade 8 (advanced students): Math Course 1-Integrated Algebra and Geometry
  • Bible – Grades 6-8: A study of both New and Old Testaments
  • Social Studies – Grade 6: Western Geography and Culture; Grade 7: Eastern Geography and Culture; Grade 8: US History and Historical Thinking

In addition to these core classes students attend Czech Language or English Language Learning (ELL) classes three times per week.  Students also have classes in Art, Music, Physical Education and Information Technology.

The courses at CISP follow a United States curriculum with limited flexibility. For example, a wide range of literature and world history is studied; both metric and US customary systems of measurement are used, etc. Also, we are sensitive to students who need specific courses for entrance into universities in their home countries and help students meet requirements as we are able. We allow homeschooling families to send their children to our school for individual classes when we offer courses and schedules that meet their needs.

We recognize that all truth comes from God.  This means we seek the best resources from both Christian and non-Christian authors and publishers and encourage students to read books from both.  In fact, we see it as a crucial part of teaching the students how to think about and relate to the world around them. They need to be exposed to the various philosophies and beliefs present in the unbelieving world, and taught how to respond from a Christian perspective, sifting truth from error.  Then they may live in the world with confidence, having been firmly grounded in the truth.

Supplemental Services

CISP offers a variety of services to support the academic success of our students.   Supplemental Services assists students who learn differently and may need an additional approach to acquiring and demonstrating knowledge of the curriculum.  Supplemental Service can support struggling learners with difficulty keeping up with grade-level material. Supplemental Services can also assist students who may need a more rigorous challenge to the curriculum.  The focus is to ensure all students are given the opportunity to acquire knowledge through varied approaches and strategies to encourage learning. An individualized plan may be developed to ensure goals are implemented throughout the student's enrollment at CISP. Students approved by the Supplemental Services Team may receive services that can accommodate diversified learning needs.  Struggling learners or students with learning disabilities may receive some of the following services.
