Google Chromebooks
Beginning with the 2017/18 school year all 9th-12th grade students will be provided with a Google Chromebook for educational use for each of their 9th-12th grade academic years.

With Chromebooks our students can engage a wide range of information sources for general information, research and collaboration, not available in the standard classroom. Collaboration between students; students and teachers; and even student/teacher/parent, can be greatly enhanced with the Chromebook. Guidelines and standards are enforced creating a well-managed and safe environment for students to explore within.

What is a Chromebook?

The Chromebook is a portable computer, similar to a netbook or notebook PC.  A Chromebook does not run a traditional operating system like Windows or MacOS.  Instead, a Chromebook runs the ChromeOS operating system.  ChromeOS was created with the web in mind and built with the idea that to most users, the most valuable application on a computer is the web browser.   Chromebooks are generally very secure with multiple levels of security, including data encryption.  Since a Chromebook has no hard drive you don’t have to worry about malware or viruses. One of the most beneficial elements of Chromebooks is you always have the latest version of the software, as the operating system auto-updates.  Simple, fast, safe and affordable; Chromebooks are a great choice for educational computing.
